A Conversation for Researches Involving Researcher Numbers
My, their, your researcher numbers

It looks like I forgot to answer this post.
That's very good. There are lots of them in what you've already done. The rule really is that if you don't need them, then they shouldn't be there. I think for the purposes of plain type parentheses go inside square brackets, square brackets inside the squiggly kind ('braces'), and then brackets and braces alternate as much as necessary. It shouldn't be an issue with just my user number.

Nested brackets, eh? Sounds cosy.
PS I don't think I'm gonna find many more. Can you see anything else (other than the purely superficial)?

"I don't think I'm gonna find many more."
Spoke too soon:
14+0+{7*[-5+(7*0)+9]} = 42
Having just discussed the accepted hierarchy (as it were) of bracketing, I reckon the above qualifies as some sort of coincidence - I certainly didn't (wouldn't) seek a solution with that in mind.

See, the problem with that one is you don't need the parentheses with the multiplications: 14+0+7*(-5+7*0+9).

Sorry, I left the word 'parentheses'. I should have said that the multiplications don't require all that--or something.

14+0+[7*(-5+7*0+9)] = 42
I see that now...............but it looked so pretty before.
Still, at least I got my sums right.
Key: Complain about this post
