Hello Websailor and thanks for this lovely article! Beavers are among my faves, the way they destroy but also create, and alter the environment to the benefit of other creatures. Very sad that there are no beavers in Africa (never were, either.) Did you know there used to exist bear-sized beavers in America not too long ago (well, geologically speaking)?
