Eastenders - Pat's Earrings

I am an out-and-out Eastenders fan, and have been following it since the first episode (which was when I was VERY young of course).
Through all of it's trials and tribulations, the one thing that has never ceased to fascinate me is the provenance of Pat's Earrings. I don't believe I have ever seen her wear the same pair twice! And just when I think they can't get any gaudier or more undesireable -they do. Does Wardrobe employ one person specifically to hunt for Pat's earrings? Are Pat's earrings an industry in their own right?
Personally I think Pat's earrings are the real villains of the series, and each episode I await with bated breath to see what kind of chandeliers adorn her fragrant lobes.

oh you are so right.
I have a secret belief that there have teams of costume jewellers secretly beavering away to create these masterpieces. Have you noticed how they are getting bigger and bigger as time goes on.

Quite right. They do get bigger and bigger, don't they?
I think you may be right in that they are specifically created by a team of costume jewellers...for try as I might, I have never seen earrings on that scale (or in that taste bracket)for sale anywhere.

Perhaps each new pair is actually a conglomeration of old pairs - so you *are* seeing the same earings twice, but in a new form each time.
Or perhaps not.
