Soap operas, are you addicted? Do you care if Mel makes a success of running the E20 Club in EastEnders? Are you worried about Alma's deteriorating health in Coronation Street? Can it be possible that you really are glued to the TV set whenever the opening title credits of The Bold and the Beautiful begin? But why? It's just entertainment, after all. Isn't it? Why are these programmes so completely addictive?
