Hullo, Northeasterners.
I'm a midwesterner who's working on a project on the USA. A3776196 is a guide to the states and some landmarks in the US. Seeing as I can't live in 50 places at once, I wondered if you fine people might have some interesting things to say about your respective states that could be included?
Little known facts, appropriate anecdotes I can use as quotes. Whatever

You can count on me for the Keystone State.
And I'd be willing to contribute a little something on Md, Del and RI if you get stuck.

I have at least a couple of sentences for each state, but it's rather formulaic at the moment - Name, state nickname, capitol, some big cities.
I wrote that section in two or three sittings, so you can imagine how tedious it must have gotten. As a result, it's rather boring, so any help wiith something interesting I can include as a descriptor will be invaluable.
Now which one is the Keystone State again? Which state do you live in, Jimi?

That would be Pennsylvania (which is also where I happen to live).
If you look on Jimi's page, you'll find an extensive list of guide entries that Jimi's written on various places in Pennsylvania.

I was trying to be facetious.
Jimi's body of work is very impressive. I trust him on all matters Pennsylvania.

My body of work?!? And I thought you were interested in my mind...
Lady Scott is an inhabitant of the Dutch Country and is originally from Virginia(?).
Perhaps she can lend a hand there?

I'm originally from Maryland... by way of Virginia.
Lord Scott and I have bounced back and forth between Pa and Va since we got married.
Va

Va

I'm really not sure what kinds of things to add to what you already have about Va and Md though.

Inside New York City, you've got the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, and the former site of the World Trade Center towers. Secondarily, you've got Central Park and then Rockefeller Square with its skating rink and giant Christmas tree during the holidays. Outside the city, the only thing I can think of is the Eerie Canal.
This stuff has already been covered quite well by others, usually in the Edited Guide. I don't know that I'd want to retread their steps.

Hi Frag! Haven't seen you about the site in ages!
There's the Finger Lakes region in upper New York (I think my brother went on a tour of several vineyards up there). And Niagra Falls is still a wildly popular destination...

And the Adirondack Park in upstate New York is *huge* at 6 million acres and is the largest park in the nation outside of Alaska.

I've never quite subscribed to the theory that an entry should be left incomplete if another entry has some of that same information.
...to a point, of course
I'll get to these this weekend. Scout's honor.

You guys are quite right about the other attractions, mostly upstate. I really ought to get out more, clearly.
JimiX, I still pop by from time to time. I'm afraid all my new projects are outside h2g2 these days. But I like to check up on developing stuff and answer questions about my old edited entries.
Key: Complain about this post
