A Conversation for Rain

Hey, nice
My only comments at this point are:
>>...or filters through the soil back into underground streams, or into artesian wells where it is often pumped...<<
It would be more correct to say 'or filters through the soil back into aquifers where it is often pumped'
and
>>...suggested in around 1947 by Bernard Vonnegut...<<
It would be more correct to say 'a relatively new idea made practical in around 1947 by Bernard Vonnegut'
And now, it would be most correct to say 'Well done sir!'
(btw, It's raining right now and has been for three days, which is unusual since I live in a high desert. It has ranged from, as we say, mere drizzle-drozzle to flat out toad-strangling gully-washer.)

pail
I've fixed up those bits, and added some other stuff.
(Have also credited you with additional research )
Think I'm happy with it now. It's big innit?!

Looks good
I would not add one more sentence if I were you (unless of course it contained, say, the words 'rubber chicken').
