I thought Bonobo Monkeys also made love for pleasure. I didn't know about the Dolphin's attitude though.

I've never even heard of Bonobo Monkeys.

I believe Will Self talks a lot about them in his book 'Great Apes' but sadly all my information is second-hand.

So that makes my Bonobo Monkey information third hand, I'll have to do some research.

Much to the chagrin of the religious right, bonobos also do other things that I suppose could fall under "love for pleasure". I won't enumerate them, but if you can think of it, a bonobo somewhere has probably done it.

how exactly is something deciphered as being done for pleasure? is it that smiling is practised with the action?

Bonobos are apes, not monkeys.
