I originally write this for someone else's project, but am now submitting it as a stand alone entry.

Only one question, do you have any statistics on what percentage of women suffer from this problem?

(Ok, I know I'm nitpicking smiley - winkeye)

Should I try to find out and add it in?

Whisky

smiley - hug mina,

I found a page which gives tons of statistics and info, even if you don't bother adding any stats, it might be worth linking to. (I've put the URL on my 'Links' page (follow the pointers from my space)

I had a quick look, and that's an American site, so all the stats are going to be for the States only.
I'll see if I can find something more universal.

Mina -- you're not going to find much of anything that's "universal", simply because the risk for postmenopausal osteoporosis is so dependent on cultural factors like nutrition and exercise. Your best bet might be to say, here are the numbers commonly seen in the US/UK (pretty close, from what I remember), but it is less/more prevalent in areas like X, Y, and Z.

Mikey, who's osteopenic even though she's a LONG way from being postmenopausal. smiley - tongueout

Thanks Mina, smiley - rose I have osteoporosis in my neck and I haven't a clue whether I'm postmenopausal.
The supplements suggested were a great help to me when I read your entry the first time.

I don't need statistics, just advice.

I think I'll steer clear of statistics, if the entry can stand without them. When I looked, there are so many, that I could double the length of the entry quoting them. I'll stick to prevention as much as I can. I don't even want to touch treatment to be honest. There is too much, and I can't guarentee that I'll be totally unbiased.

I've had this entry hanging around for too long as it is, without letting it languish ignored at the bottom of PR, so I'm very rudely bumping it up.

After reading the other posts, I'll withdraw my request for statistics, it's probably because as a man (or at least I think I am) I've a slightly different approach to this article, it's not quite so personnal for me, so I'm a little more distant.

However, are there any support groups for sufferers?
