I hope I haven't already done it once since we're not supposed to be repeating ourselves! However, since I don't remember having done it before, I'm doing it now ... signing up that is.

Well if you get loads of people that are just people here to read things then i dont think they will change the rules for that, especially since it seemed to have all happened in april then it stopped.......
Im still wondering wether they were all usernames you signed yourself???
Well if you had a difference maker, someone really important, someone who is very powerful on the internet...someone who could help make the difference, someone who could attract attention to this by just revealing his true details........
So what happened then?Have they reviewed the particion?
Oh yeah, just remembered that you wouldnt do email particians!

Hi Dozdim145651, I don't know how much impact (if any) this petition made on their decision, but in November 2002 h2g2 switched to reactive moderation. That solved several of the complaints we were trying to address with this petition, although the occasional censorship during wars is still disappointing. Here's the page where they announced the beginning of Peer Moderation (the end of post-moderation): http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F77636?thread=220525 As for the identity of all these people who signed, they could check the IP addresses for each person, and it would show which internet service provider was used for that account, and the ISP could track it down to one individual location or computer (if I understand it all correctly). It would probably take time and effort, so I doubt that anyone at h2g2 tually looked up that info, but they could check if they wanted to and verify whether these came from different accounts or from the same users.

uh huh,so are you still doing it?Because they do have some freedom on here, and if you dont like the lack of freedom here, you could go to my forum at http://dozdim.proboards20.com
i am working on a new forum, but im not sure when i will be able to get that up and running because it is very hard.
By the way, alot of users are via digiboxes, like im through telewest (eurobell)
And if they could trace the ips on here,im guessing that they wouldnt be able to find out tjhat information unless they did it illegally.

So as long as they decided to write down all the usernames, then go to all their accounts, and find out all their ip addresses, and you have about ....hold on

ok 151 signings?or about that anyway, and so in all honesty i reckon that you have 150 computers, that are all under different internet accounts, that all go on here to do signatures!
LMAO!
Yeah i was joking,i didnt think you would do 151 sigs,i was just saying.....
Im still trying to make my forum, but my parents are a**clowns so its hard when they wont let me go on the internet, and kick up a fuss whenever i open any of my forum documents (with the programming writing in them)

>>There's no cut off date, so it's never too late. I hope people will still sign up years from now, if BBC is still holding this silly stance about censoring languages other than English, etc.<<
Are you still collecting names for a petition?

Still collecting names? Sure. Not sure if anyone will check back, but it would be interesting to see how many signatures are there five years after it began, or ten years, etc.
When I took the bbc.co.uk survey a few weeks ago, I mentioned in the comments section that they might take a look at the petition and see what some people were concerned about. Who knows.
