So, just for the record: Did RINGO give back his OBE? (It was an OBE they got, wasn´t it (revealing that the reverend hasn´t got the Anthology to look things up...)

MBE... Member of the British Empire... what is an OBE!??
And I think it was only Lennon who gave it back, stating that it was meant for those who fought in wars, and not for musicians....

The OBE is the Order of the British Empire. I think that was one up to the MBE...
Well, yes Lennon gave it back. I remember browsing the anthology in a bookshop and seeing the faximile of the leter to HM QE II...
I think Lennon fought a war, too, against ignorant americans???

ha... Lennon was in "How I Won the War"(I think that's the title...) where he wore his now FAMOUS glasses... YAY!!!... from the pictures I've seen, he was quite delicious-looking.
Not that I love RINGO any less...
OH!!! RINGO will be performing close by in late August... I might go and see him... HOORAY!!!
And PRAISE the ANTHOLOGY!!! This is the Church of the BEATLES... I am surprised you do not have a pristine copy here!!!
(and everyone should fight the war against ignorance, no matter their flag...)

In the name of the Starter, the crumb and the Holy toast!
Let us sing praises to the Lords,( oh heck, no they were a german band)
Ok Ok Ok...
Let us sing praise to the fab four, cause their songs are devine, their words are so holy and the music is so fair:
Let us all turn to Penny Lane as we start the worship this morning...
