Oh yeah
*waves to LiS*
The heat in that pub on Friday - I actually stuck my head under the cold tap in the toilet at one point it was so damn hot!
As to that - I came back and everybody was fanning themselves and it looked suspiciously like Babel 17 and Shazz (at least I think it was them) were both fanning Mark! The priveleges of being the guide editor eh?

Yes, I think that it might have been Babel and Shazz that were trying to make life a little better for Mark. You were lucky to be able to get to the bathroom to put your head under the tap. I had positioned me at a very tactically weird place at the table as it meant that I had a good overview of what happened at the two tables we had occupied, but at the same time couldn't get anywhere without having to either climb over the table, or to make four or five people move to make way.
But it was a sweltering heat in there. I heard people (Shazz) that went outside to make phone cals just to get out of the heat of the bar.

It was good to meet Pastey at the meetup (even if some of his stories were somewhat alarming), but y'know I had always imagined him to be female (based upon the pic at U54963)... strange.

Sounds promising Orcas!
LiS... you are a ! These guys are almost bordering on insufferable now (with that Russian Lady), and I am having a hard enough job learning Dutch without having to try and decipher that Swedish Rap Music!

Another top memory:
Talking with Ashley and N7 when suddenly Ashley looked out the window and went, "ooh!". He dashed out of the bar, apparently after two men in bright white naval uniforms

another top memory: clearing out the bit about some overly emotional posting to the Scouts' eGroup, with Ashley, over a beer

There was one nice cool place in the pub, and I tried to stand there for as much as possible although it did make me look a little disasociated...

I noticed there were two of these cool places, either side of the airconditioning which hangs from the ceiling

I remember making some typically surreal comment about them... although I don't remember what the comment was

Yes I kept getting a refreshing breeze every time I tried to get to the food. Too late as usual. i ended up going outside for fresh air and got accosted by a nutter trying to get me to join his mailing list and asking me to spam all my friends with ways to make the world a better place. Took me 10 minutes to get away from him. *shudder*
