Hi Niwt!
In terms of quality there's no doubt this one *is* good enough for PR!
The entry would benefit from some subdivisions (either GuideML headers/subheaders or at least, highlighting sections by UPPERCASE headers).
If you're asking for suggestions as to quantity, here are some from the back of my head...
- safety of travel for tourists (at least some years ago, kidnapping and terrorism were in the news)
- you might point out that installing the regional assembly *was* a step from the French government, not towards independence but somewhat into the direction of self-governing (if that's a word)
- you could expand the 'tourist attractions' part
- on a *very* personal note, I'd like to see some reference to garlic

Well, take or leave my suggestions above but a few headers and subheaders would definitely make it look better. GuideML isn't difficult to handle, but if you don't like the idea then you can substitute GuideML headers with uppercase headlines like this:
HISTORY
...
TOURISM
...

err... don't get me wrong please!
What I said is:
a) GuideML is *not* required
b) mark the headers with anything feasible in text mode, like UPPERCASE or perhaps _Underlines_ or putting them between *Stars*

I haven't made any changed yet. 
I've also seen heaps of other entries on countries in PR and they say so much more than this one...who would want to pick this?
If I do make the changes, I suppose I might put it in PR, in which case I'll tell you
