You know, having said that, this would make a good candidate for narration - a beeblecast, that is

A quote by H.L. Mencken (1880–1956), in The American Language, 1921:
“The American,” says George Ade, in his book of travel, “In Pastures New,” “must go to England in order to learn for a dead certainty that he does not speak the English language.… This pitiful fact comes home to every American when he arrives in London—that there are two languages, the English and the American. One is correct; the other is incorrect. One is a pure and limpid stream; the other is a stagnant pool swarming with bacilli.”

It must be all those wonderful words like 'naff'.
Side note: I will never forget standing in front of Buckingham Palace when a mounted policeman went by.
Mother trying to distract crying child: 'Look, Jimmy, look at the loverly p'liceman on 'is 'orse.'

Love that George Ade quote!
I wouldn't recommend it - it's more authentic if you write it in your natural voice
A couple of nitpicks:
<(in comparison to their Canadian, Australian, South African, New Zealander, etc counterparts)>
(in comparison to their counterparts from Canada, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, etc)
I still disagree with this. It's that second 'vast majority' in there - can you just change it to 'many of its subjects'?

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Thanks all!
If the sub could take into account Icy's nitpicks that I didn't manage to get to, that would be awesome.
