When you cannot conveniently run water of the right temperature, change your approach.
Run hot water into the bath - pure hot water - to about three quarters of the depth you want.
Run pure cold water into the bath. Mix the water as you go with a hand or the jug you will want later to rinse your hair with.
Turn the cold tap off once the water reaches the correct temperature.
Bask in hot water, possibly whilst reading.
