back in 1990 1 was a railman at baker street station just two interesting things
1. on inspections i carried out below the exsisting platforms, in a
maze of tunnels, an electrial room that was part of an
old disused passageway. on the walls were still the old posters
circa 1940 - 1950
2. on a fire inspection, i and a colleague came across a door which
we had no lock on it but was jammed shut with age. after a little
persuasion we opened the door and found an ancient wooden table and
chair and a brass fire extinguisher on the wall. on a label on the fire extinguisher it stated the last time it was checked was 1946.
