A Conversation for Fugazi - The Band

Dischord have quite a specific 'game plan' - they put out Washington DC punk, don't they? I thought perhaps that should be clarified.
This is simply my opinion, not neccessarily something to add to the entry, but I personally think In on the Killtaker sounds much more 'experimental' than Red Medicine. Sure, Medicine is intersperesed with occasional oddities such as the intro, but as for the actual music I'd say Killtaker is more experimental. Reading this entry just keeps reminding me how good Fugazi are...
Now I've listened to Steady Diet a lot, I actually like it just as much as their other albums.
When you talk about End Hits, don't forget to explain the meaning behind the name - oh, and perhaps you could talk about the name of In on the Killtaker too? (The whole 'finding a letter in the street' thing).
Great work so far, Rumble!

I'll look at the finished article and see if I can work it in properly.
I disagree about killtaker. Red medicine seems to have more adventurous stuff on it, there are two standard songs on killtaker for every experimental one whereas I think RM has loads more experimentation. For example fell destroyed, by you, back to base and Combination Lock.

Thinking about the reviews and things Ian has said, do you think it would be better to be subjective or objective. Ian says that he thinks people should review his albums in terms of how they feel about the music rather than what the music is about. His justification basically being that why use words to describe the point of a song, as thats what the song is for. The problem is would that fit with the guide's style? If you have any alternate reviews of the albums or extensions to what I have I'd like to hear them so they can be incorporated or something.
p.s I'm glad it reminds you of why you like fugazi thats half the point

It seems to be ready now (barring useful links and bibliography) so give it a look over and suggest any changes additions and when it's in top shape off to peer review.

Looks fine to me - stick it up!
Now to see if people who don't know who Fugazi are think they're getting the information they want.
Key: Complain about this post
