Click on the Front Page button and follow through to "Ask h2g2" or "Miscellaneous conversations" and choose another interesting sounding conversation from there
Hope this helps

Don't worry mate, you will find that special someone eventually, and if you don't I will always be online for you to confide in . . .

I'm here too Pet.
I know what loneliness can be like.
Reach out. We're all ready to catch you if you stumble.

There once was an anarchist from Ambridge
Who, tired of eating lonely sandwich,
Reached out for friends
And in the ends
He got far more than he could standish.

Have you been reading Trillian's child's advice on writing bad poetry or are your talents entirely innate?

Dear Lonely:
You are not alone. I am dying for friends in the inner city of Dallas Texas. Here, many of the locals here have an IQ somewhere near slime on the evolutionary scale. I find myself being the smartest person in most gatherings, and that is no fun. I truly lone for human or other companionship. Write me, hon...as we would say here:" I am fixin" to go nuts if I don't find an outlet soon. Help!!!! My name is Anne and I am a chataholic....forgive me!

For what pray tell would you be forgiven of? Welcome to h2g2. If you click on "My Space" (not my space but your space called 'My Space") and then enter a note, just a few words, then folks can click on it and talk to you. There are some very friendly people here who will come to your space and tell you more about h2g2 and where to find things. Meanwhile keep clicking around, try 'Who's Online' and click on any name and it will take you to their space. Or click on a name in any posting to visit that person. But first you should enter something in your space so people can talk to you.
Or just enter some more questions here and I'll get back to you. And congrats on climbing out of the slime into the light.. Welcome.

Hi Anne
Most of the locals anywhere seem to be like that, for some reason.
And if you forget to keep your head down and they find out you're not like them they will make your life a misery.
Methinks you've come to the right place. Most of the locals here seem rather wonderful. (Of course there's the occasional pedantic, misogynistic, boring old fart. . . )
Maybe I have found the right place!
Anne of a Thousand Days Posted Jan 7, 2001
I haven't had to look a word up in years...so when I saw the word pedantic I knew two things:1. The IQ in this room is much higher than in the ones we have in America. 2. I have finally found a place where we can talk about things that don't involve Bill Clinton's dating out of Humidors and 3. Maybe this Madam Kat can really teach me something about the world! Thank you and I look forward to talking with you soon. As we say here in Texas: Y'all take care now! See you soon! Anne

If yer lookin for big words to look up yer in the rite plaice.
*Think she'll have to look up fart? I better tell her it's one of them acrymonium thingys meaning Flighty Artistic Retired Theologian. Not that I am any of those things. Well maybe artistic, but I use crayons.
Should someone tell her the IQ in this room varies with the number of mice. And whether they are being tickled.*
Maybe I have found the right place!

So you read that article about the rats too John?
Anne, you'll know you've arrived when John starts correcting your Gramma (Mine was highly insulted - said he was trying to teach her to suck eggs )
Here's summat helpful for all you transatlantic folks:
