Who is Angus D????

Angus Deaton, the former presenter of the BBC topical comedy newsquiz - Have I Got News For You, who was recently fired for revelations in the tabloids about his private life.

I have no idea what post 1 said, but I suspect I'd sympathise with the poster's sentiments. Angus was, as I believe the last two episodes have shown, the ideal presenter for the show. I believe the show's producer made a statement informing the public that she felt the public would not be able to cope with a show which made fun of people placed in Angus' situation. She said that the show would find it difficult to broach certain subjects. I couldn't disagree more, Angus dealt with the hassle Christine Hamilton through at him, admirably and I think it's tragic that the BBC is so out of touch with the real world that it feels it must become the moral abiter for this country.

On a different subject, I was disgusted to learn that the new Asian Network does not have any White Caucasian presenters on it. Why is the BBC discriminating against us like this?

hi i totally agree with the bring back angus as he is the only one who can present the show and will be missed by thousands and I think he was unfairly dismissed!
but as to your comment about the asian network not having white presenters is rediculous! Its infact quite defeating the object of having a network for asians if there are white people on there!!! C'mon now archangel and get off your high horse!!! no hard feelings but i just think that your argument is null and viod.

Yes, I was of course satirising the BBC's policy of representing all ethnic minorities in mainstream TV programs.

'I was only joking' I agree with your sentiments about Angus, I think he was great, but the stuffed shirts in grey suits got him in their sights, he was the weakest link!!!!! wink wink........

Regarding the Asian programme, on a serious note I would like to see 'us' white folks represented if only to get us mixing together
instead of being in the segregated mode, provided that we are the minority and getting some of the flack. If I prattle on much more I shall loose the plot.

I support your call to arms - bring back Angus.............all is forgiven.
