Making the guide portable would be rather alot of work. Current methods of browsing html or other markup language varients on a PDA are rather...well...bad. It can be done! I would love to help as a tech, i am well versed in the ways of the web and scripting. But i suppose we much wait until the great provider of BBC deems us worthy. If the guide staff has information on how the guide community might go about starting this on its own then i would love for them to contact me (hint hint).

What about making it a subscription of the [URL removed by moderators] type. I realize in a perfect world the guide is a standalone, but wouldn't using a well established web/pda provider to establish service for hikers be a start?
