I've been trying to make 42 out of my user number but for the life of me I can't figure it out, I suk at math thats probly the reason.
I do understand the basics but I keep having remainders. Just if I had one less 3 in my U number. maybe somebody can figure it for me
My number is 237333.
I'll continue trying but I'll bet someone figures it out before me.

Without resorting to my solution-finding program, how about
23+7+3+3*3
42, it's everywhere
Jerk Gently in The USA Posted Oct 17, 2003
works for me, I checked some of the fomulas and realized each number didn't have to be used by itself, ie 23.
now to get it in the list so I can feel special
thanks

Potholer Posted Oct 17, 2003
Alternatively, 2*3*7+(3-3)*3, though it *does* feel a bit of a cheat getting 42 from the first half of the number and then managing to cancel out the second half.
I also ran my solving program and it came up with many other answers, but I'll leave posting those for a while in case anyone wants to have a go at doing things manually.

Its a little known fact that the film 'the 39 steps' was originally titled 'the steps' But Robert Powell was so unfit he collapsed on the 40th step every time, so that had to cut it down...

42 squared is 1764. Add the digits from 42 and 1764: 4+2+1+7+6+4= 24 which is a reversal of 42.
