6X9=42. Three is a number historically full of symbolism (the Christian Trinity, first prime, etc.) just as two is (husband and wife, ying and yang, etc) so 2X3 should make the first multiple of the lowest important numbers. Nine is of course 3X3 (the next multiple) and a number which when multiplied by any other number can have it's integers reduced back to nine (9X9=81, 8+1=9 or 9X42=378, 3+7+8=18, 1+8=9). So 6X9 has enourmous significance! And 4+2=6 again! What a load of rubbish! But I had myself going there for a minute. Not bad if you don't look behind the curtain...

OK, how's this. 'One is the lonliest number'. Two is the perfect pair, positive and negative. Three is stability, religious perfection. Four is just a number. Five is the pentagram, symbol of evil. Six sounds like sex so it's naughty but nice. Can we make a numerological statement for 42 out of that?
