Was just thinking that there weren't many seasonal entries, so I thought I'd write one.
Comments gratefully received as always
Any chance of a fast track process considering we're so close to Easter? Either that or leave it to next year

As a history of Easter Eggs I like it
However you might like to mention some famous varieties of eggs (Cadburys Creme etc) and maybe the Easter Bunny

Adjustments made to include the easter bunny. Are we allowed to include reference to specific brands? Or would it be too UK-centric?

I don't know, specify UK brands and see what happens
Try asking in the Ask H2G2 forums for favourite easter egg brands

How about egg throwing?
I'd say refer to whatever brands you want to. If someone from Swahili wants there to be a mention of Swahili easter eggs, all they have to do is say so...

I like the changes - in fact the only other thing I could possibly think of is the *how do you eat yours* tagline for Easter eggs, but that mightn't fit..

I don't know, there is a guide entry on the subject of "How do you eat yours?" but no approved entry. Is it worth mentioning given that should this article be approved there would be nothing to further explain the comment?

To save arguments over whether it should go in, I just put it in anyway. Do you think the result is any better? Is that the kind of egg throwing you were thinking of Lucinda?
(Only changes: Mention of "how do you eat yours" in the Creme Eggs footnote; addition of egg throwing to egg games.)

Actually no - I was thinking of the thing like egg rolling, but where you throw the egg rather than rolling it. If I remember right you get your points for distance travelled before hitting the ground, and none if it breaks. There's apparently a lot of skill in getting your egg to land just right...
But your way is cool too...

Needed the work though and I was a bit ambitious putting it in two weeks before the date
Lucinda, I'll mention your version of egg-throwing as well and put a note to the Sub-editor to credit you, 'kay?

well you know - you don't have to just eat choc eggs at easter
just the only time you can buy them

A simple addition would be to mention that the Easter holiday is known to have been an established celebration under that name, long before the birth of Jesus. Also, many other faiths celebrate spring rituals with eggs as a symbol of fertility.
Is there any way to find out when the first chocolate Easter egg was made and by whom?
By the way, do they still make those cute little peep-hole Easter eggs where you could look in one end and see faciful landscapes? I haven't seen them in the US for far too many years.

Don't have time to check the first egg tonight, but I'll look into it.
Anyone think there are too many footnotes? And can you suggest better ways of incorporating the information held in those footnotes, as IMO I think the entry works better with that information in there in some way.
Thanks

I think the footnotes are fine as are
I'm not angling for a ref Just commenting that there's no reason for this not to be picked up even though it's no longer Easter.
