Holodecks

2 Conversations

Holodecks are fictional places from the popular television show Star Trek. On entering a holodeck, all a person can see is blank metal walls, but upon a quick command to a computer, the room can be filled with computer-generated holographic illusions using all the senses that can transform the room into virtually any environment.

Popular plot themes involving holodecks include the possibility of being trapped inside such an illusion, and possibility of a character from a holodeck illusion trying to escape into the real world and the blurring of the line between fantasy and reality.
