A Conversation for h2g2 FAQ: Moderation
Pre-moderation
Gubernatrix Started conversation Jan 28, 2003
I'm trying to have a conversation on a couple of threads with someone who has been pre-moderated. Currently the posts he or she is making are not breaking the house rules.
Obviously he or she has been pre-moderated for a reason, but what is the policy about reading these posts? They seem to be moderated quite slowly.

The posts are ideally meant to be read and cleared/failed within an hour of them being posted - although this can't always be the case, as the moderation team work on many sites and so their speediness depends a great deal on traffic - h2g2 is unusual within BBCi for being reactively moderated - all the content on most DNA sites is read as a matter of course following it being posted.
I'm afraid that there's not much that can be done - if the person has ended up in premoderation there will be a specified period for which that will remain the case...

If the Postings are taking longer than an hour to appear on h2g2, please let us know, as Researchers shouldn't have to wait any longer than that.
