Thank you for your welcome and your quite right in presuming total confusion. I struggled with the technolgy when all we had to do was pull the string tight between the tin cans, so you might imagine how I feel with this set-up.
I think I've posted my main interest to the Guide, 'Neuro-evolution' but I'm not sure what I did to open your message. I'm sure the mist will clear eventually!

Have no fears Brian.. there is always someone around willing to give you a helping hand... or paw.. as the case maybe...
You say you are struggling... but it seems you have learnt one of the basics in H2G2... the skill of talking to people... clicking on links (usually highlighted text with a line underneath)... is basic to most web pages... so me is sure you understand those... at the end of this message will be a little button saying reply... click that to reply to anything me has said... everyone says its easy... but easyness only comes with time and understanding...
Me will head back to your home page and take a look at what you have been doing... to do that... I simply click on your name... its text with a line underneath... highlighted... You can go to my homepage by clicking on my name... and it's the same with anyone else's name on h2g2...
Ok... me is off now... to your homepage...
Don't Panic!!!

Dearest Greebs,
I hope you are well.
Please can you tell me how I 'attach' my mind blowing short stories or do I have to type in the 'box provided' ?
And where is the button marked 'fiction?
I've also completed a short essay on 'neuro-evolution which I would like to share with the Universe, so it knows its not alone !
Best wishes,
Brian

Hi Brian... nice to hear from you again... ~grin~
You can't attach files to h2g2... you must write them... or use copy and paste to transfer them to a h2g2 page... Click on the 'Add Guide Entry' button... and then follow the same steps as you did when you wrote on your homepage... give it a title and save it...
There is no 'fiction' button... whatever you write... be it non-fiction or fiction all goes into the guide in the same way... the only difference is that you can't get a work of fiction into the edited guide... If you are going to place your own works of fiction on h2g2... it might be wise if you take a look at 'What's the copyright situation with stuff I put on h2g2?' notice here A308251 Just so that you understand your rights...
Hope this helps...
Greebs..xx
