Bez (arguaby the finest figure of a man ever found wearing Bez's underwear) <underpants>

I had a page removed from h2g2 because of the following...

This decision has been made because it contains a broken link, or
a link to an unsuitable external website.

The URL(s) which failed were:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster

...what gives?

Bez

Tube - the being being back for the time being

The link is considered 'broken' because it refers to a non-existing page. smiley - shrug

Or it could be that it was removed on the grounds that it links to alabster rather than Goo smiley - winkeye

You made a typo: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/ is the correct URL (note the terminating slash). Without the terminating slash, the database attempts to find a named entry called 'alabaster' (like <./>writing-alternative</.&gtsmiley - winkeye - and there is no such entry, so a page-not-found error results.
