for a well-written, entertaining account of a moment which must have been terrifying at the time.

A lovely entry, and I'm pleased that you survived and all that jazz. But let's cut to the chase here... Where's that short cut?

A very well written entry, with great suspense throughout and a lot of rhythm to the writing, meaning it flows extremely well. Well done on writing a brilliant entry!

Hey, sorry folks. There are all these comments, and I've not been keeping up with replying (I was on hols when it went Front Page - that's my excuse!)
So, replying to each in turn then (seems only fair):
David B - I wouldn't say >>terrifying<<. I was young, and this kind of thing was not unusual, however, not usually with 'royal' involvement. This was certainly a couple of seconds that will stick in my mind forever though.
GreyDesk - I've not lived in London for 11 years now, so I'd have to look on an A-Z to get you a road name. I'll be back with an answer.
Jimi X, Red, Lil and CyberHuman - glad you all liked it.
Lil - glad you liked it _so_ much that you linked to it. I'll catch up with that thread in a bit.
Cheers,
Paff
