Hiya, Mmmmm,
I read your piece on Voodoo and thought I'd drop you one or two reactions. I like the idea and there is certainly room for a definitive guide entry on the subject. I think you recognise yourself though, that this is not really it yet. Please take any of my comments in a positive vein and with a pinch of salt. Take 'em or leave 'em as you wish.
>>To most people when Voodoo is mentioned the thing that springs to mind is normally the Voodoo doll or the 3DFX card for the computer enthusiasts. The Voodoo doll is only one of many rituals and practices of the Voodoo religion, and like the whole religion is generally misunderstood by your average person.

You seem to set out to show that there is more to voodoo than just dolls and g-cards, but really don't follow it up. You *do* only describe dolls and (albeit briefly) g-cards. Could you include more details about other, less well publicised voodoo rituals.
There are a couple of typos in your table: vigourPink (sounds like a great colour though! I bet Dulux would love to call one of their paints Vigour Pink! ; and Ipulsion)
I found your description of how to make a voodoo doll a little longwinded for what is basically 'make a normal, basic doll with whatever you have to hand and sew something very personal inside it.'
The last para is the one least likely to please the Peer Review crowd, I think. The 'my crazy friend Emma' intro is straight onto thin ice and it gets steadily thinner, I fear.
So, to recap, I like the idea and the overall style, but I think you should make good your promise to reveal some of the less well known details of these widely publicised but little understood rituals.
You could make some references to Voodoo in pop culture; Live and Let Die and Angelheart, to name a couple of mainstream examples. Just a thought.
There is a page on h2g2 with some links, but I haven't looked further than an unaccessible Yahoo page; A246205.
Anyway, got to go, good luck with this piece. Oh, and just one other thing. I wondered why you chose the Alt Writing Workshop for this rather than the plain old WW. No problem, of course. Just curious.

Not sure what to suggest about this one. Mmmm Blood *seems* to have left the building, but has subcribed to too many conversations to make it easy to find out.
If you are reading this, Mmmm, can you let us know what (if anything) you want to do with the entry.
In the meantime, I am taking cleaning up AWW seriously, and I would be interested to know whether other researchers think the thread should stay here or be removed to the FM. I am about 60/40 in favour of removing it, but not quite ready to commit to proposing that it is removed.

As Dr MT has so laconically pointed out, there is now an edited entry, (with a serendipitiously appropriate A-Number) and Mmmmmm Blood has not posted since Feb 22, 2002.
I therefore propose that this goes to the Flea Market.
