There is an article in preparation on how to lose & maintain weight. I wrote this article before Christmas, and would like to suggest that (if permissible) the scope of the colaborative entry be widened fractionally to ocntain some of this additional content.

I LIKE it. Excellent artical Zis Guy!
I would like to say though, that it would be good to say SOMEWHERE (And perhaps I should get my lazy butt over to the 'contribute to the guide' section) that the obsession with weight is really overdone in proportion to the extent of the problem. Although I think you've probably covered that, to an extent, by your discussion on body image. And yes, obesity IS a major problem, so...

Thank you for your kind comment. One reason I put this forward is that the current articles don't seem to address the issue of whether you should be losing weight in the first place, which I regard as important. Hopefully this will get merged in, as masses of similar entries makes life hard for strags.

An excellent article, although you have lapsed into "first person" mode a few times, this needs altering.

Washboard abs? I'm sorry, but I don't know what that means, that requires explanation.
Calista Flockhart, a size 2? I take it that's an American size 2? In Britain there is no such size, unless it's a child-size "age 2"
Women's sizes here rarely dip below 10. I'd say an 8 is very slim.
Calista looks like she would be a British size 8. She certainly would struggle to buy clothes to fit here.
I take a 14 jeans; a 12 top...I'm so pleased to hear that's average!
A great article, Just Zis Guy, a worthy entry!

I was thinking too, that in exercise you focus very much on going to the gym, which does have its place, but is only a small subsection of the exercise that is possible, and a lot of people either can't afford a gym, or are embarrassed about being seen by so many people in spandex.
The talking point probably addresses this further (still haven't got off my lazy butt) but I think a complete article would discuss exercise such as walking, swimming, riding (all of which are great for aerobic fitness), even dancing and team sports. My personal view on exercise is that the only way you stick with it is that you find what you enjoy rather than some 'gold standard' exercise.

Hi Justzis.
Peer Review is not meant to deal with material which is meant to be incorporated into collaborative entries - so I suggest you post a link to this entry on http://www.h2g2.com/A500293 (you may already have done so?) and leave the sub-ed involved to do the merging in - the sub-ed can decide if the scope needs to be widened, and will do so if (s)he feels it would be worthwhile. Personally I think it would - this is all great stuff - but it's not really my call.
When we find out what the sub-ed does with the material he has, then we can reconsider how to go forward with this entry - but in the meantime I think it would be as well to move this submission to the sin bin.
I'm not completely certain of this verdict - so I'd welcome other people's opinions...
