My best buy...

Crickett

what's the best purchase you've ever made?

It was a futon sofa bed thingy. I bought it when I moved into a purple walled bedsit. I used it every day for 7 years until my Mother in Law bought her son and I a new bed!

Was it for a loved one where you got see their face light up with appreciation?

No, it was for me... but my loved one and I... erm... enjoyed it! *blushing*

Is it something that has gained in value over the years – like an antique you picked up at a jumble sale?

Good Lord no! I bought this bed (with two futon mattresses!) for the princely sum of £25!

Was it something you longed for, or a spur-of-the-moment purchase?

I desperately needed it! I moved the following day!

Did/do you think it's great primarily because others have told you so?

No, it answered the need I had at the time, and it went above and beyond the call of duty!

Was it necessarily expensive? Does its value fluctuate?

It was cheap, cheap, cheap and lasted a very, very long time. When it was time for it to go to recycling my Father in Law made a very fetching birdtable out of the wooden slats!

Can it ever be bettered?

I doubt it!

Maybe you didn't realise how great it was at first and it was a bit of a slow burner?

Oh no, I appreciated its benefits immediately. A multi-functional piece of furniture which made life liveable in the "Purple People Eater" as I christened my bedsit!

Do you regret selling it?

Well, I didn't sell it, more disposed of it! And no, I did not regret it. It is currently feeding birdies in my sister in laws garden. And I sleep much better now!
