Great work, GB! Amazing how myths can live for so long... and all because the imagination of people...

Nope, I think it's great the way it is now - there is such a thing as too much information, making it hard for people to take it all in...
This entry is very neatly parted by various headers..

Excellent work! The curse part addresses everything I was hoping it would, and I also notice that the name of Tut's dad is now Akhenaton. I guess I have nothing further to add to this...

Wasn't the reason for the curse the old fungus that grew there? The people arrived and disturbed and they breathed the fungus and they killed them? Well, I got it form this page http://www.h2g2.com/A424135 , at the end.

Mould and fungi? Not very likely, with a climate as dry as that of Egypt, and - even more - the Valley of the Kings... it's hot, it's dry, and it's not a fit surrounding for ANYTHING to live and prosper... only reason I could walk around there for more than half an hour was that we didn't have any air conditioning in our bus... getting used to the heat from east of Turkey and southwards...

Well, it would be inside a Pyramid... I suggest you look into it as I've heard it from other sources as well. What I'm saying could just be a myth, though...

Believe it or not, I watched a programme on Discovery last night, entitled "The Curse of Tutankhamon", and they listed "aspergilis niger" as the killer; a mould which grew on the mummy. Apparently when Carter descecrated Tut's remains to get at the 143 amulets & charms, the spores were released...and two men helping with the "task" died soon after.
They also interviewed a man whose wife died after visiting the tomb, apparently she reached out and touched the paint on the walls...she had already battled Hodgekin's disease, and with her immune system already in a bad way, she became ill upon their return to the USA. Her doctors did a biopsy of her lungs and found aspergilis niger, which was effectively starving her of oxygen, and she died. The husband traced the mould back to the tomb. Quite a lot of the show was about this unfortunate woman, interviewing her husband, her doctors, looking at x-rays, etc..it was decided that that's what the workers had died of, in the 1920's...the "fever" was this mould attacking their lungs.
So, folks, do I add this to my entry, as documented evidence, or just let it go as more people trying to cash in on the curse...
I think King Tut has had a lot of bad press...

OK, I went to look at that entry, The Frood, and I have referred to it in mine.
I have also added to the list of players, the two men who helped Carter destroy the remains of King Tut.
I've not referred to the woman I just mentioned here.
Congratulations!

Congratulations, AGB,
I have picked your Entry as a possible inclusion into the Edited Guide, and TPTB have accepted it. THis means that the day will come when this Entry will be featured on the Front Page. As this is not your first one, you will know that it may take quite a while until this happens. The SubEds are only human (that's what I was told ). You will be informed by Email when the great day has come, but as one of the hard core h2g2 users, you have no chance to miss that particular day ....
Congratulations again, and keep on writing Entries, every one of them is worth reading!
