The h2g2 Poem

Smelly student socks poking out of unkempt duvet

A Day in the Life...

I get up each morning...

Get out of my bed,

Stretching my body

And shaking my head.

I then take a shower

To keep myself clean –

The soap and shampoo

Are wonderfully green.

Into fresh clothing

My body I put,

Just jeans and a t–shirt

Are my daily suit.

Some sustenance now

Is all that I need,

Something to stop me

Snacking with greed.

Then out on my journey,

My lessons to learn.

To get me a job,

For which I most yearn.

And then I come home

At the end of the day.

My body and mind wish

To finish the day.

I drift off to Nod

By counting red hens.

And wake up next morning...

To start over again.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
