This takes a bit of time - but it's good for a laugh:
Find an old potato. If it's starting to go off a bit (but not too much!), even better. Then wrap it up in as many boxes, layers of wrapping paper, etc. as you can. By the time you've finished, it should look nothing like a potato.
On Christmas day (or birthday!), give this 'gift' to an unsuspecting victim. It should take them a while to open it... Just make sure you have their real present as well!

This also works well with other small objects - sachets of salt/pepper/vinegar/sauce, most vegetables, etc. smiley - smiley

It's especially good if you've got a friend whose birthday is just after Christmas - that way, you can just save all the wrapping paper (assuming it's not too badly ripped smiley - winkeye) and use that!

So far, I haven't had to shovel any snow. December dumped 139 inches. I had to work at 3 am on New Years Day but my wife and I celebrated 1 day early.

There's nothing like giving the old liver a workout! The local town folk like to drop a giant pasty off the old bank building in town at midnight sorta like times squre but with a yooper twist. (pasty- (n) a meat and potato pie. I think its Welsh in origin. yooper- (n) someone from the Upper Peninsula (U. P.) of Michigan. If you saw the movie Fargo we talk like dat. eh?

I went in to Birmingham with friends. Got wet - very wet! smiley - sadface
Got so wet we didn't bother to stay 'til midnight (and there was hardly anyone there, so the atmosphere was a bit lacking).
Went to one of our friends houses, plenty of smiley - ale. Not too much though, 'cos I had to drive back home in the morning!
