A Conversation for Notes From a Small Planet

I wonder

Pheroneous

An excellent piece Ormondroyd. You must have spent many long hours. I hope you will get a reward of some sort one day. I spent two very happy years in Bradford, (somewhat before your time I suspect) Manningham to be precise, and whilst I see exactly what Mr Bryson meant (He should have tried Hull!) I would defend the place to anyone.

Anyway, a small point. I always took 'Instant Karma' to be a sarcastic reference to cults etc. that promised Nirvana on earth and so on, of which he had had his experience, and was now rubbishing. The wonderful singalong line 'the sun, the moon...' was, I thought, ironic, as in such things are promised but not delivered. Now I suppose I shall have to dig it out and see who is right.

Anyway, Good stuff, well done.
