Hmm...
Do you have Dime Bar adverts in the US?

Dime Bar adverts? No. At least, not here in Colorado.
But here's one for you. I went to elementary school (kindegarten through 5th grade) in Austin, Texas. Our school mascot was the armadillo. I remember it was tremendously embarrassing. When confronted with other schools with mascots like tigers and bears, we could only shout, "I'll give you rabies!!"

A Dime Bar is or was a chocolate bar in the UK. I can't remember what they taste of now - I haven't eaten one for years, I don't know if they still make them or not. But back in around 1993 they started advertising them. The television advert on ITV showed an interviewer asking a yocal "Do you like dime bars?", and after a blank response from the yocal, asked again "Dime... Bars....???"
to which the yocal replied "I like armadillos! Crunchy on the outside, smooth on the inside. Armadillos!" and started eating an armadillo.
Then the advert said "Dime Bars. Smooth on the outside, crunchy on the inside".
Whilst the interviewer said to the armadillo eater "You're a bit thick, aren't you?" to which the yocal replied "Ymmm".
It was one of the best adverts I've ever seen - second only to R-Whites - and soon became considered a classic.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!
I'm scared to ask about the "R-Whites"!!!!
OK...I've got the connection, and I now know what a "Dime Bar" is. It sounds a bit like our "Two-Fer-One" bar. Chocolate outside and a sugar waffer core.
Good stuff!!!! Tastes much better than armadillos....I think!
