One thing I was always curious about was what they did before they released albums. I've heard about a bootleg tape that the band did at one of their shows before they recorded an album. Do you know anything about that?
I also curious who first recorded Green Hell.
Also, Dave Mustaine is mentioned twice in the list of band members.

I don't know all that much about it. It was a story that the guy who introduced me to heavy metal told me about. He said it was distributed widely, and it helped them spread the word about htme a lot.
He played me a tape of it, and I think Green Hell was one of the songs.

I don't know about any bootleg tape they did at a show; it certainly wouldn't have been out of character for those guys to have made one back then.
I do know, however, that they have at least one song on an independent compilation of heavy metal bands that was released sometime before their first album. The tape was called "Metal Militia." In fact, as the story goes, the guy putting the tape together was trying to come up with a name for the tape, and had narrowed it down to "Metallica" and "Metal Militia." Lars Ulrich, who was a friend of this fellow, supposedly recommended "Metal Militia" because he wanted to steal "Metallica" for his own band.

Perhaps trivia like this would be good to include in the article itself.

Sorry to interrupt your discussion, but there are some spelling mistakes. In the Discography paragraph, "originally" is spelled "origionally" which doesn't seem right.
Also, the cover of the "Black Album" is not totally black, there is a dark gray snake on there, as well, though it is hard to make out.
Apart from that, I like the article. How about including some more background information about the albums, the guys, etc.?

...and a question for all.
Do you have any information on why Metallica took up the habbit of tuning down their guitarres by half a note (from e down to e-flat)?

Hi.
I've had a good read, and its certainly a good start!
Basically so far you have done the discography etc, but you are missing a good biography. You need to tell the story from when the band first started, maybe including bits on what the band members did before. Go through all the incarnations of the band right to the present day, including the trivia and any anecdotes you can find.
Try and tell it as a story, with the discographies at the end.
Hope thats of some use!
