Entry: A Short Break in Paris - A47729712
Author: BigAl. Keeper of the Glowing pickle and monobrows. Patron Saint of Left Handers - U723247
I inadvertently sent this to EGWW to start with.
I'm submitting this early to see what PR'rs think of it as a concept - before I spend too much time on it.
I had thought of including this info as an Update of 'Things to do in Paris' A190009A190009; but this one is more to do with preparing for the visit, rather than what do do when one's there

Very useful BA All good advice.
In a couple of places you've put prices in the form £18-80 instead of £18.80
Also on the subject of prices, since you've included others, it might be worth putting adding prices for the Museum Pass.
In the Guided Tours paragraph, mixing the sterling and euro prices was a bit confusing.

, h5r.
Ref 'In the Guided Tours paragraph, mixing the sterling and euro prices was a bit confusing'. I know. It's just that I can't remember how much I paid so I used the 'net to put in the actual prices. Depending on the site one uses, sometimes the prices are quoted in Euros, sometimes in £ and sometimes as 'GBP'.
i MAY TRY AND STANDARDISE IT ALL TO eUROS IF pr'RS GENERALLY THINK THIS eNTRY WOULD BE A USEFUL ADDITION for shouting

While standardising on euros might seem a good idea, it would still be useful to have the sterling equivalent to show what you actually pay in the UK at the Eurostar terminal.

I think it would be better with all the prices in Euros, since I'm not sure what a pound sterling is worth, while I know what a Euro is.

... after I've just changed them all the pounds sterling .
Yes, I think I agree with you, as the relationship between Euros and pounds sterling is a very moveable feast!

Hi Al,
would it be possible to include a bit more information about getting there? The airport and how to get to the city from it, that sort of thing. There seems to be a bit of a hole in the Entry for anybody going to Paris from outside London.
(And since you asked, as a concept it's a great one. It will be a very useful addition.! )

Well, the Entry is really about getting into Paris on Eurostar. It goes straihght into Gare du Nord station.

Hmm, I see what you mean about the 'gaping hole'. I neglected to mention that the train arrives at Gare du Nord. That's because I described that aspect in a convo. thread, and thought that I'd included it here . I'll put it right shortly.

Can you use anything from A588864 and merge it into this entry? Then we can get rid of that, which is frankly a huge embarrassment these days! No credit necessary, unless you really want to.
Otherwise, really useful entry!

Yes, I might be able to use some of it, though the best outlet for it might be 'Things to do in Paris', which I've linked to in my Entry - and wondered in Post 1 whether I should make mine an Update of that

Well, I mentioned it here as there was activity going on. That entry looks like it might have been a very early Topic of the Week.
I think your entry stands alone, but what struck me was that we are both recommending different tickets for the metro for short breaks, and having them both in the same entry makes much more sense (or recommending one over the other, I'm not proud, it was a long time ago I went there), and the info in that entry isn't what I'd call useful really.

BB (Mina. I've added much of what you said in your Entry under a new Header of 'The Metropolitan (Metro)', and added you as a co-author. If (and when) you're happy with what I've put, we can ask for your original Entry to be removed

Well, I thought we're both recommending the same - the Paris Visite card

I misread something about the tickets, going mad, never mind.
It all looks fine, remove mine (I've copied it), although I reserve the right to continue counting it in my 'Solo Edited Entries' count.

PS Credit not needed, but you can use the credit tag for my name if you wouldn't mind, so I can prove I did contribute something once upon a time.

Argh, sorry, also the contextual navigation at the top of mine will need to be changed, and all the other pages that link to my old entry, sorry!

Hi Mina,
I've kept you in as co-author. And please keep it on your list of Solo Entries. I would do the same thing, After all, you were there first

Well, if you just allow it to be removed from the EG, but not remove the Entry completely, that should be methinks
