I actually had this in my Journal a few months ago:

WANTED: One single female annoyed with the meat market/dating scene willing to forgo the usual mind games and BS associated with dating and just have fun.

Required: conversational skills and easygoing nature. Pluses: moderate to good looks, early to mid 20's, interest in heavy metal music, science, and other slightly nerdy topics.

Minuses: shynesss, strong personal space issues, rabid political and/or religious beliefs, and paranoia.

Reply to ad or apply in person, if you can. If you ask nice I might even tell you about myself.

I like that. Shame I don't fit...I violate the first minus in a big way, and the second in a moderate one.

Wanted: A prettyboy with a job, a car, and a coffeepot.

Well, I've got the job, car, and coffeepot, but I by no means a "prettyboy."

::Just read both ads side by side:: I look shallow or cynical...not sure which. I think I perhaps need a break from relationships!

From an indepeandant POV your two ads seem very well suited to each other. I mean, some differences are good, yes?

I suppose given the limited information listed here, it would appear as if we could be suited for each other.

In fact, you couldn't be much worse than my last girlfriend; the only thing that saved me was the fact that she wasn't fully into the idea that I was her boyfriend, and thus, completely in her power. In her head, boyfriend = slave.

Oh, I'm not all that bad. I'm just a typical woman...you know, the kind that would appreciate some support and affection. At least a 50/50 deal. I guess that is too much to ask...

Depends on who you ask. Some guys want to dominate a relationship, some want to be dominated, some get dominated whether they want to or not...

I just wanted to spend some time with him...if he'd fixed dinner, it would have been nice...

Hmm...was this in a relationship, or was this just someone you were interested in?

A relationship...train wreck...exercise in hostility and humility...or something along those lines. If I were merely interested in him, I could tell him to go away!

If that's how you're describing it, it doesn't sound like much of a relationship.

At the moment, it's not. A month and a half ago, we were living together, and engaged. ::Shrugs:: Your guess is as good as mine as to what sort of relationship it is overall...

Living together, huh? I've noticed lots of relationships start going south when the happy couple starts living together. I think it's something about not being able to get away when you don't feel like being with that person...
