YAY!!! Glad to have you aboard, my dear...

There isn't much to the job itself at all so far... only Galaxy Babe has used the service....

You'll need to check our mutual e-mail addy (if you write us at h2g2muses.hotmail.com, I will let you in on the password) from time to time to see if there are any messages waiting to be delivered....

I tell you, business has been slow(but I can promote HMS much more... smiley - tongueout)

I'm most excited!!! YAY!!!

Would you like some chocolate milk!??

as long as the sugar content is sufficiently low, then yes, thank you. if i have too much sugar i become rather incoherent. and an incoherent, not-even-drunk, avenging angel isnt' too pretty...... smiley - tongueout

um, well, not always fun. i wouldn't want to do permanent damage to anyone simply because my sugar levels are high. and i often end up hurting myself too. smiley - sadface

and it's ok. no hurry. hotmail can be a pain at times...

I don't know if I'll be a good Hermes, but I'll do my best. Count me in if you want. Great idea I think. I would even have a message to deliver myself, but I obviously can't do that because then the recipient would know it was from me, wouldn't she? Anyway, I shall merrily ask for the password in a moment.

Mathnerd-- stick around, please!!! smiley - smiley

How about this, Ginny(can I call you Ginny)!??? You use the address provded at HMS one time to ask to deliver a message, and then write to it again, asking for the password to the e-mail.

That way, a Messanger can deliver it for you... ermmm... before you are a messanger yourself!?? If that will work... if... if the message isn't for a messanger!!! ::PHEW!!!::

We need to establish how messages should be sent-- what they should say AROUND the requested message... I will do this in another HMS forum...

Please remind me to give you a link when I have!!! smiley - winkeye

I thought there was an interview? Well, fine. If you think so, I certainly don't mind.

Why don't we sort these things about sending messages out here? I think it's rather simple. It could be like this:

[startquote]
This message is from someone who wanted to send you a message but stay anonymous. We know who it was but we won't tell as we promised not to. And we keep our word. The message reads:
------------------------------------------------
[Message Body]
------------------------------------------------
Message brought to you by the Hermes Messenger Service at h2g2.
http://www.h2g2.com/A472501
[endquote]

Now I do have a few questions:
* Who can request messages being sent? Anybody? h2g2-memebers? How do we find out if they are? And whether they are who they would want us to believe they were? - (It's a good idea to use the brain for thinking and the buttocks for sitting. I always have to remind myself. So now I am trying to think with my brain...) Since nobody wants anybody else to know who originally sent the message to us, we don't have to know either. So we take what we get and pass it on. Simple as that. (solved) *puh!*
* There ought to be a list of all active Hermeses on h2g2.
* And there ought to be a page explaining how the messages are sent. I would not give away my most secret admirings if I wasn't convinced that they were treated confidentially.

I would be happy to establish any of these pages, or contribute to them...

May the Love be with you
-Gin

PS: Are there any restrictions to the contents of the message? Do we deliver messages containing 4-letter words? Or other no-good things?

PPS: I never asked nobody if they liked the names I call them. Not even nicknames. I would prefer Gin though. Ginny sounds a lot like geenie. And -by God- I am no geenie. As I said, you call me what you think you ought to call me...

All right.. Gin it is!!! That's less to type!!! smiley - tongueout

and it is cute...

Please go ahead and compose the pages you think we need(which are both great ideas-- I was thinking about listing the current messangers on the main HMS page-- it might be best to combine your ideas on one page, so our visitors have little travelling to do...). It'd be nice to have a link to our e-mail from other HMS pages, so I will tell you how to do that if you need to know...

And I'll be right back with the link!!! smiley - winkeye
