But not here!smiley - sadface

On the MOPARTS board we have a seperate page that opens with the smilie codes. It doesn't interfere with the page you're writing, and can be closed at any time without disturbing your pending forum entry.

I know if the UUB boards can do it, H2G2 can!smiley - magic

I should figure it shouldn't be too much different than the thingy.. I'd still rather see it as a button on all the pages, rather than just the alabaster...

Good idea!

Something like that would be very useful to someone like me....permanantly lost in (cyber) space!

Hotmail use something similar to insert addresses into the Address bar at the top of an email, the code should be almost identical really.

One idea would be to have it as a popup window accessable from the Post to conversation page. Simply clicking on the smiley would insert the relevant <> code into the message body. The same thing can be accessed from the Edit Entry page but would instead insert the <SMILEY=" "/> type.

I would write a copy myself in javascript, but I'd have to learn it first. Better make a start then smiley - winkeye

The designs are great, in my humble opinion!smiley - smiley You've got them clear and concise. I think either format would work quite well.

Right now, I find the smilies' page a bit cumbersome, with its' LONG scroll down through the codes!smiley - sadface It would be nice to have a short "cheater" card to pull up for "info at a glance".

The "auto insertion" idea is also a good thought....but I wouldn't get my hopes up for it! At least not anytime soon!

These are terrific ideas smiley - wow, but like NM says... those might take a while smiley - blue. Now, if we could just get a rep from the PTWVH to visit and give us some thoughts from the tower...smiley - biggrin
