There are two very neat desktop products that essentially do the same thing - Konfabulator (now owned by Yahoo!) and Dashboard (part of Mac OS X).

It would be really neat to have an h2g2 widget in either or both of those systems. They are essentially just a very simple html page with some css and maybe some javascript. A basic h2g2 widget would have a search box, an Infinite Improbability Drive link.
Then people could read entries quickly and conveniently, from their desktops.

Just to make it more unlikely that this will ever happen, there is a third utility to consider
