Secretly Not Here Any More

So, what do we all think of the first scores?

I'm happy with mine (last comment I had from Pin labelled me a "tawdry little whore" of a copywriter :p), but there's some on there that I would have marked differently.

all i am saying is ouch! but i know i am probably the least experienced (and quite possibly youngest) writer in the contest, i think its a case of a reoprt saying "could do better" which is fair enough.

I'm familiar with criticism of my writing being that it's too succinct: I don't "do" waffle, and a lot of my actual paid work involves summarising and crystallizing the essentials, so I suppose that comes through in what I produced.

Yup, this is going to be stretching OK!

I think the first round was very tough.

Some people have got low scores, perhaps unexpectedly. It's worth remembering that I (I can't speak for the others) considered the fact that you considered yourselves among the best writers here when giving out scores; in that context, I would have been quite prepared to give a zero for anything really poor.

You're all in esteemed company. However you look at your scores and your reviews, you've done well because the people surrounding you are *superb* writers. As Matt and Beatrice suggest, you just need to stretch a bit/lot more smiley - smiley

I thought my scores and comments were definitely more than fair. Shall have to get in a few sessions on the rack to ensure that future entries are from a more stretched librarian owl!
