Let me start by saying I can't help (someone else may) because I don't use fedora, and the linux I do use has a hard-wired ethernet connection.

But I did just read some complaints about wireless support in linux, so I figured it must be a hot topic. A quick google search turned up these sites:

http://tipsybottle.com/technology/wireless/Fedora-Kismet-HOWTO-v3.shtml
http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_Tourrilhes/Linux/
http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/wireless/2001/03/06/recipe.html

The second one is the Linux Wireless FAQ, the first one is specific to Fedora. The O'Reilly article is easier reading.

Hope that helps.
