A Conversation for The Spice Girls

One-album wonders.

Civilian

Maybe it is a sign on the human condition that we seem to jump from one worthless repeart-the-same-chord-over-and-over-again girl (or boy) group to another.

It is very strange that bands considered to be the best of their time (like, say Led Zepplin) never got major chart exposure during their existence, yet they managed (and sometimes still do) to pull hundreds of people to their concerts, and they still sell very well in music stores.

Consider this. People like the spice girls and britney will have Zero sales 4 years from now. % years and you will struggle to find their cd's on all but the biggest shops. However the so called cult classics will always be there.

To those who think that it has something to do with the generation gap, you are wrong. "New" classics are being formed all the time. Also remember that at the time of Led Zepplin and others, there were probably lots of One-hit wonders as well. No one knows about them for the same reason no one will know about the spice girls in ten years.

There's nothing strange about Led Zeppelin not getting major chart exposure - they refused to release any singles.
