No sex before marriage?

That's exactly my point, that just like I can't tell a couple not to have sex before they're married, I also can't tell a couple that they *should* do it either. It's such a personal decision that nobody can tell anyone whether or not it's right for them personally--and that by no means is it absolutely necessary before marriage to ensure that the marriage will last.
And Chifmas, I'm happy for you... it's not often that you find true love waiting anymore, or really that you find true love at all. Congratulations!
Marc

Well, at least we can agree on that.
BTW, at no point in this discussion have I attempted to give anyone orders as to what they should or should not do with their own bodies. I have merely offered my opinion as to what course of action seems to me to be most likely to produce a happy outcome.
why should it wait?

sorry if this posting is kinda thread-less, but i just had to get rid of this one:
quoting truelovewaits.org:
"Sex before marriage always hurts people. You can choose not to hurt others through sexual misbehavior."
(note the "always"!)
of course everybody should have the right to control their own amount of sexual activity (event though i don't understand why anybody would really want to stay a virgin), but statements like this one simply are..well...wrong.
BTW: does anybody know whether this whole "no sex before marriage" is actually that big a topic outside the US? living in europe, i only met very, very few people who are on a fanatic anti-sex trip....
why should it wait?

I don't think it's a big issue outside certain conservative/right wing circles (particularly those with a religious aspect). At least, these tend to be the people who try to enforce a "no sex before marriage" attitude on *everyone* rather than allowing personal choice.
As far as I'm concerned, a couple can do what it wants, as long as nobody is placed under pressure. If somebody doesn't want sex (or anything else, for that matter), they whould not be forced or pressured into it. If both people want to do it, then best of luck to them.
That's not to say that the person who *does* want to have sex is prohibited from discussing the issue and getting his/her point of view across. It's a fine line, I suppose...
Cheers,
Rob

If you have sex before marriage and think of your partner in terms of sex then how do you it is true love or lust

Lust starts off strongly but fades pretty quickly, love takes time to grow.
The perfect relationship has love and lust.
