If anyone's read 'Book of Est' or 'Matari', they'd be very welcome to give a quick description of the books and how good they are. I should be getting a copy of Book of the Die soon, so I can fill in that section myself.

Aside from that, I'd like to recommend this for the edited guide and suchlike.
Chance be with you.

Fascinating entry. I will definitely add it the H2G2 Literary Society next time I make an update, and hopefully we can get this edited as well. (However, I just recently made my monthly scout recommendations, so unless another scout recommends it, it will be at least a month)

The "I" references will need to be dropped. They don't want the researcher to appear within an edited entry. I would have no problem with you dropping the section on Matari. You don't need to write a paragraph on every book an author has written, however, rewriting what you have to something like:

Matari, set in ancient Japan, involves a love-triangle. Published in 1975, this novel is currently out-of-print and very hard to find.

Would also work. The reader would understand immediately why the paragraph is short without you having to say it, and you convey the same information.

"I" references dropped.
Matari section fixed. (yeah - that's good advice).

Glad you liked it... smiley - smiley

Yes, I recommended it, and as you noticed, they approved. To quote the standard message:

"You'll be glad to know that we think this entry is great, and it has now gone into the Editorial Process for future inclusion in the Edited Guide. When it does get into the Edited Guide, we will email to let you know, but please bear in mind it can take a while for entries to go through the sub-editing system."

It's never been quite clear to me why the editors can't say that... smiley - winkeye

Because it's nice for the Scouts to say it - it's always pleasant to be the bearer of good news. So although we could say it as The h2g2 Editors, we think it's fun for the Scouts to do it.

Our message is designed to cope with Scouts forgetting to close off the thread, though, so it doesn't make a huge difference. It's just us trying to spread a little love.
