Belief Theory
GodBob Started conversation Nov 3, 2004
I have this theory that my brother and I thought up and was looking for someone to give some input or to bounce the ideas off of. It's about belief affecting reality and might tie back into theology, but i don't want the conversation to turn into a theological argument. I'm just looking for holes and thought that other people could see it from a more empirical view than I could.

Well I can answer without a bunch of regledgous mumbo jumbo. I was suffering with an extremely high fever in a community hospital here in Memphis Tn. I did'nt ask for the nurses(?)for asistance instead I asked God that my fever to break just as I finished my prayer I started sweating so as to break the fever. The next morning my temp was 92.6

This is a question that affects the h2g2 community, but if it improperly placed please make me aware of it as my intentions are not to misplace a conversation. To the second person, I would assume that if you prayed about it that you believed that it would come down in which case you support my theory.

No it was'nt like that at all. I did'nt know if God would come to my aid. The reason I was in that condition was I was shot at point blank range by a 12ga shotgun. The Doctors said it was a miracle I live thru the 1st night. So I gueesed that God had a reason for me to live. He has proven it to me numerous times since.

This theory states that when someone believes something, then it has a chance of being true. So if 5,000,000,000 people all believed that something existed, then it would.
We tied it back kind of to when scientists mapped the trajectory of an electron and the electron bounced off of the particle they threw it at at a direction that made no sense. Because of that, they said that there must be some other particle coming off of the particle from the part that they thought the electron would come from. They then named this the neutrino. About ten years later, someone actually found evidence of the neutrino existing.
It was the same way with dark matter. Someone theorized about it and then years later, someone found evidence of it.

Interesting I have'nt the chance to futher my Education Mate I did read a book on Einstien and Quatum physics for the layman or something like that. Oldly enough I understood some of Quatum Physics as it was displayed to me.

If you want to tie it back to creation, all you have to think about is the fact that none of the subatomic particles have mass. They have volume without mass. So we said that if there was only one being, in this case god, then when god believes that something would be created, then it would be. Or if you want to use the example of the rainbow after Noah and the Ark. We thought that since it says in the bible that this was the first rainbow, and it says that this is when god made the rainbow. Then maybe before this, light wouldn't prism when it hit water? Of cdourse we don't know if it did or didn't because we weren't around.

True. But even Einstien believed there was a God, so did the author of the Quatum Physics book I read.

GodBob Posted Nov 3, 2004
I'm not denying the existence of god, I'm suggesting that god may have used the belief theory that I'm suggesting in creation.

Traveller in Time on his head
" Hmm, the 'Unified Belief Theory'.
Just a silly question:
How do you explain 'nothing' still does not exist? Most people know about it and think it does exist!"
Belief Theory
GodBob Posted Nov 3, 2004
People don't belive that nothing is something. I feel that this is because of the symbol we all see the word nothing as. So the concept of nothing as a noun is non-existant.
That or i misunderstood your question, but i'm fairly certain that i got it.

What do you mean by the "'Unified Belief Theory'"!?
Because i dont think that ive ever heard of this.

92.6 is dangerously low. You're well on the way to dying at that temperature!

Well it was cold in the hospital. They kept it like an Ice Box. I made it though that was back in 1980. I've had some really close calls since then, though not as abupt or as close.

Including committing all sorts of crimes and acts of terrorism apparently. Then those believers fully expect not only to get forgiven but to get extra brownie points.

I'm sorry what you belive and what's display in the Bible in direct conflict with one another. So you would have to amend your pactices and turn to Christ for forgiveness to be in the count of those in heaven. Please do not disturb this on any conversation of mine again. You can't have your Cake and eat it too.

Kid, if this was an entry in your journal, you could describe it as a conversation of yours. Since it is a public conversation started by GodBob, you can't really give out to other people for what they say here.
I can see that you are a Christian. You should bear in mind that there are people here who:
a) do not believe in any God
b) believe in a God but are not Christians
c) are Christians, but do not believe that the Bible is the only authority as to what to believe and not believe.
