Entry: The Three Wise Men - A45155577
Author: BigAl. Member of the Wessex Researchers Group - U723247
A topical subject whih hasn't yet been explicitly covered.
I used Researcher 232164'S unedited Entry on The Three Wise Men Myth at A1687643 as the basis for this. However, I've been unable to add his name to the list of Researchers .
I'll keep trying though.

I have seen this problem before, BigAl. It's something to do with the Researcher's account being wiped, whether by them or other means (choosing my words very carefully here).
I've checked the account and there's nothing, not even the A-number you quote, so my advice is to proceed, using their material. Give them a "credit" after the tag; if you don't know how to do that, I will type out the exact Guide ML for you.

A further minor complication is the loss for 10 days in 1582 when Thursday, 4 October was followed by Friday, 15 October - the introduction of the Julian calendar. However, take-up of the Julian calendar was not immediate everywhere; indeed in some places it was very slow. The UK waited almost 170 years: Wednesday, 2 September 1752 was followed by Thursday, 14 September - a shift of 11 days. Greece did not adopt it until 1923 and Turkey waited until 1926, when it changed from using the Islamic calendar.

So, in order to identify the 'Star of Bethlehem', it is necessary to look at astronomical events occurring between 4BC (or earlier) and 7AD. Although several phenomena, from a comet to a supernova, have been postulated, David Hughes, Professor of Astronomy at Sheffield University, UK <--- insert comma after *UK*
believes that what the Magi saw was a rare triple conjunction of the planets Jupiter and Saturn in the night sky.
<--- you only list two planets there
These events would have been predictable by the Magi, giving them time to prepare plan their journey<--- "prepare to plan"
I'm not sure if you wanted me to type out the Guide ML for you to give the additional Researcher credit or not, so I'll post it anyway (remember it won't appear until the Entry is edited status, but if you'll tell me when you've inserted it, I will check it's correct
END of Entry:
make the journey.
Researcher 232164
If, later on, you add references tags you must place them thus:
make the journey.
Researcher 232164
or the code won't work
Place your links between the references tags

I'll get onto those - not sure if I'll do it before breakfast though!
'believes that what the Magi saw was a rare triple conjunction of the planets Jupiter and Saturn in the night sky.
<--- you only list two planets there'
What I meant was that the two planets come together three times - in May, September and November .

Right, done those, GB - including the 'Additional Research' tags. It didn't take as long as I'd feared .

that code is correct
<> I know, but it doesn't read like that - what you say is:
<>
when you should say:
believes that what the Magi actually saw was a rare conjunction of the planets Jupiter and Saturn, when the planets came together three times, (in May, September and November 7BC), three years before the death of King Herod.

Done that. Added a few other bits and bobs as well. E.g. I'd forgooten about the relics discovered by Helena of Constantine
