Che Guevara - a 20th century revolutionary turned myth. His image is used on T-shirts, key-rings, cigarette packets and even advertising campaigns for vodka.
So who the hell is he?

Very good!
It would be a good idea, I think, to include a little more background information vis-a-vis the revolutionary struggles in Central America. What was the historical context? You should also include references to the sources of the quotes you use.

Thank you!
OK, more background info on the Central American struggles... maybe the African bit could do with some more context too.
Good point about the quotes; all of them can be found in one or other of the books given in the References section. (Come to think of it, they can probably ALL be found in Anderson's book; by coincidence, my copy arrived in the mail this morning, but I've not had time to read it all yet as it is 814 pages long and about 5cm thick! )

You're welcome. Perhaps you could add a footnote to each quote identifying the source; or, if they are from the same source, a footnote attached to the first would probably suffice.

What a great entry!
Not too long ago, I read a book 'Shadow Warrior' by Felix Something-or-other (who was employed by the CIA)which delves into detail about the capture of Che. It's a great story about hunting Che in the mountains of Bolivia. There's more in the book than that story, but it's a fascinating chapter.
Anyway, my being sidetracked aside, this was a well-written entry. Did you find any information on Che's split with Fidel? That might help explain why he left Cuba - it was more than just the Soviets if I recall correctly.
But again, good stuff.

Hi!
I've updated the entry a bit.
* Added lots more footnotes.
* Added some background on Che's motorcycle trek and growing anti-US feelings.
* Added some info on the split with the Cuban government.
* Added some info on the attempted Congolese revolution (and added reference to Laurent Kabila).
_Shadow Warrior_ by Felix Rodriguez. Yeah, he's the guy who's standing behind Che in the last photo taken before he was executed.
I was tempted to include Che's letter to Castro after he left Cuba, but then if anyone's that interested I guess they'll get one of the books! I could end up just putting the whole biography in the article!
Let me know what you think of the updates. jd

The only hope for America is revolution, and the only hope for revolution is turning Elvis Presly into Che Guevara-- Phil Ochs.

Great! Not drowning anyone with information that only a few would be interested in, but contains enough stuff to interest most.
I'd like to hear about the motorcycle trip, but that's just the bit that interests me the most. I don't think that the Guide is aiming to be the _comprehensive_ guide to everything. That's what drunks down the pub are for...
Nice one!

Elvis Presley became Bob Dylan and Phil Ochs hung himself. Ah well, never mind...
I join the chorus of near unanimous approval for this article, by the way. Nice work. I would also like more about the relationship between Che and Castro. Is it true that Castro basically couldn't stand having him around at home, and that's one of the reasons he was 'farmed out' to places like The Congo and Bolivia? Maybe he just wasn't much use as a timeserving bureacrat. Or maybe he was too popular, I don't know...

I believe the rugby playing and gliding occurred during Che's time in college. His fourth year, I think. This is mentioned in Anderson's biography!

Congrats. Che's been picked for editing for inclusion in the guide. Please don't stare at the screen waiting for it to go through, it might take a while. Be patient, you'll get an email when it's done. And don't forget to feed the cat.
Cheers
