h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

From what I see here and at wikipedia and from my googling, this relatively new topic that you are (or were) contributing to is in fact rather interesting. There is no way for me to handle this out of a larger context, as it would surprise me if what you are doing here isn't a rediscovery of something itself (as was the Smarandache function). If it isn't and I develop it, I'll ask you on-board as a coauthor at some point (not here, but in a real journal). The idea of making this into an Edited Guide Entry is not out of the question. That may be something I do in April and May, but I'm inclined to stick to really more standard material then.


I'm going to see about some of the references, and maybe I'll change my mind about what to do with this.

You've already put more effort into finding out whether this generalization is new than I have. If you get interested, I have some multiple-word software for computing Pascal's triangle and a few proofs associated with the article. You're welcome to take over.

I won't touch this whole area very much until next month aside from a couple of library trips over the next week or so (First I'll stop at West Chester University on Sunday, and then I'll go to Temple University's mathematics library on Tuesday (I have to tell some people there about my own 'work' anyway)). So, you may as well take your time to gather what you already have and see if anything else here needs your comments.
